B.Pharm., Ph.D. · Lecturer, Dept. of Pharmacology, CMU · PI, DHD · Co-Lead, NeuroFly2Cure

Salinee Jantrapirom is a pharmacologist and neuroscientist leading the Drosophila laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. In NeuroFly2Cure, she co-leads discovery efforts on protein homeostasis and neurodegeneration, bringing complementary expertise in neurochemistry, neurotoxicology and drug discovery. Her research focuses on how distinct forms of proteostasis impairment and environmental neurotoxicants drive neuronal dysfunction and degeneration, with particular attention to vulnerable groups such as individuals with underlying neurodegenerative conditions. Using combinatorial disease models that integrate Drosophila and human cell systems, she dissects disease mechanisms and identifies intervention points. She is especially interested in neuroepigenome pharmacology, investigating small-molecule selective inhibitors of epigenetic factors as potential neurotherapeutics, and in discovering compounds that can restore both global and pathway-specific defects in protein homeostasis to translate fundamental disease biology into new treatment strategies.
